She has proven herself on passages to the North Channel from Cobourg, a 7,000 mile passage from Cobourg to St. Vincent in the Caribbean that started in July 2019, and a 2,000 mile direct return to Canada via Sint Maarten and Bermuda. Oct-Dec 2023: Join us for another sailing adventure of a lifetime, our second passage from Croatia in the Mediterranean to St. Vincent in the southern Caribbean.  Three legs are available, offering both Advanced and Offshore certifications:  

  1. Split Croatia to Mallorca, Spain via Sicily (Oct 19-30, 2023)
  2. Mallorca to Tenerife via Gibraltar (Nov 2-13, 2023)

Covid-19 update on exam procedures

On-line study is a great way to make good use of social isolation and to prepare for the time when you can get out on the water to take a course. An issue was , however,  that previously you needed to meet face to face with an examiner or proctor to take the exam.

We are pleased to announce that we now have agreement to remotely administer the Radio Operators Certificate exam by video conferencing/Skype or FaceTime without the need for you to leave your home or meet with an examiner in person

We are actively working on ways to administer the Sail Canada exams in a similar fashion without the need for personal contact.

Update: We now have an approved procedure for Administering the Basic Coastal Navigation exam remotely. We are scheduling monthly exam sessions Stay Posted for the Next exam date.

Upcoming SC Advanced Cruising courses in the Caribbean

We are holding an  Advanced Course Leading to Sail Canada Advanced Cruising in St. Vincent in co-operation with Barefoot Offshore Sailing School February 10-16 2019.

It is also possible to get ASA 106 On this course.

Note from Rob:  I’ve bareboated in St. Vincent twice, once in the 90s and again last year.  It’s a wonderful place to sail and I’m excited to be on the instructor team with BOSS!  The image above is the spectacular remote reef, Tobago Keys.  When you’re anchored in that location, there’s nothing but the reef between you and Africa!
